Rainbow Beach Dunes is the Natural Area at Rainbow Beach Park and is managed by the Chicago Park District. Rainbow Beach Park is located at 3111 E. 77th St. in Chicago, IL. This stewardship program has been active since 2009 and restoration has been ongoing since 2004.
The purpose of this website is to highlight stewardship activities, educate visitors, and showcase the wealth of plants, animals and ecosystem services that this nature area offers! This website has been maintained by the CPD Volunteer Stewards Alison Anastasio, Jacob Klippenstein and Jen Raber and content is provided by many contributors.
In 2024, community stewardship workdays are scheduled during April-September on the 4th Saturdays. Go here for 2024 workdays.
Note that the site is small so we might not be able to accommodate your large group if other groups have already RSVP’d for a specific date. Get in touch with the CPD/TNC Volunteer Stewardship Coordinator (stewardship@chicagoparkdistrict.com) to talk about arranging an alternate location/time for your group to donate time and volunteers.
